Honestly, he does try to be the best doctor he can be. Hopefully this bio will be informative and help you decide if Dr. Stanley is the right doctor for you and your family.
Dr. Stanley was born and raised in Fort Worth, TX. Growing up, he played football, basketball, and ran track. After graduating as the valedictorian of his high school class (yes, there were other people in the graduating class), he enrolled at Rice University.
At Rice, the future physician majored in history while taking the required science and math classes. During this time he helped start a student tutoring/mentoring program called Operation Success, a collaborative effort between Rice and Jack Yates High School. He also volunteered teaching Church School classes. He also played intramural sports and video games, a must for History majors.
The next 4 years were spent at Baylor College of Medicine. Dr. Stanley continued to find time to teach Church School and be active in the student branch of the Texas Medical Association. He joined the student council and developed an “Intro to Clinics” Workshop, so future students would start their rotations on the right foot. He also tutored medical students.
After medical school, Dr. Stanley completed his residency in Baylor’s Department of Family and Community Medicine. For the next 4 years Dr. Stanley was employed by Health Texas Medical Group in San Antonio, TX. He saw a wide variety of patients, aged 7 days to 104 years. Dr. Stanley saw patients in the office, hospitals, and skilled nursing facilities. He served on the group’s Board of Directors, Peer Review Committee, and Compliance Committee.
In 2005 Dr. Stanley moved to Pearland, TX, where he is currently practicing. He is a member of the Pearland Chamber of Commerce. In December, he went to Vancouver, Canada to present a lecture at the Family Medicine Forum, Canada’s national Family Practice convention. The topic was “Helping patients maximize the office encounter.” He has been asked to return in 2006. He is also presenting at the Society for Teachers of Family Medicine Conference on Patient Education in November 2006. The topics are “Helping patients use the internet” and “Helping patients maximize the office encounter.”
Dr. Stanley is married with 2 kids and speaks Spanish. His goal is to help people use the medical system better, so they can live healthier lives. I hope this gives you an idea if Dr. Stanley can be a doctor you feel comfortable with. |
